TRACES is the European Commission's online sanitary and phytosanitary certification platform that was launched in 2004. It supports the importation of animals, animal products, food and feed of non-animal origin and plants into the European Union (EU), and the intra-EU trade and EU exports of animals and certain animal products.
Representatives of businesses operating in the agri-food chain, sanitary and phytosanitary authorities, organic control bodies, border control posts, etc. from both EU and non-EU countries that use TRACES for certification purposes and information exchange.
TRACES Classic has been entirely replaced by the new TRACES platform, also referred to as TRACES New Technology (NT). Subsequently, the TRACES Classic platform was discontinued at the end of 2021. The implementation of the new system featured modern functionalities such as the possibility to sign official documents in an electronic format. Access into the new system is only allowed with an EU Login account an aspect which enhanced TRACES data security.

As a valid authority TRACES user, you can access the data from the Analytics section, after logging in to TRACES. For assistance with Qlik Sense or for other data-related inquiries you are invited to contact the TRACES Helpdesk Team at SANTE-TRACESec [dot] europa [dot] eu (SANTE-TRACES[at]ec[dot]europa[dot]eu).
