Platform members

About the platform

The Platform brings together public entities (Member States/EFTA countries, EU bodies and international organisations) and actors in the food value chain including consumer and other non-governmental organisations. Public entities are invited by the Commission to join the Platform as members and private sector organisations are selected through an open call for applications.

Following its first mandate (2016-2021), the Platform was re-established for another 5-year term (2022-2026). In this context, the Commission launched a new public call for applications for private sector organisations. Interested organisations with expertise and proven track record in food waste prevention were invited to apply until 23 July 2021.

The Commission has evaluated 68 applications from private sector organisations and has established the new list of members. The membership will remain in force until the end of the mandate, without the possibility to receive new applications.
