Advisory groups
The advisory groups were created to reinforce the Commission’s commitment to consult stakeholders in an open and transparent way early on in the policy-making cycle. They examine policy proposals in-depth at regular meetings.
DG Health and Food Safety runs the following advisory group:
- Advisory Group on Sustainability of Food Systems (AGSFS)
- Advisory Group on the Food Chain and Animal and Plant Health - now closed (repealed by the AGSFS)
Action platforms
DG Health and Food Safety also favours more flexible ways of cooperation with its stakeholders, either public or private, for profit or non-governmental organisations. To pursue EU-defined public goals, DG operates a number of action platforms.
