Introduction
Grants may be awarded to Member States for emergency measures against pests, in order to:
- eradicate a pest from an infected area;
- provide additional protection against the spread of a pest.

Timeline and main steps for submission of applications for Grants
- T0
- Official confirmation of the presence of a pest
- T0 + 2 months
- Preliminary information required within 2 months of the official confirmation of the presence of a pest (Annex I)
- T0 + 6 months
- Preliminary budget (ANNEX II.1) and technical information (ANNEX II.2) required within 6 months of the official confirmation of the presence of a pest, with the application for a grant
- Update of the preliminary budget when necessary
- After EC checks
- Award decision and Grant Agreement signature
- Date in Grant Agreement
- Request for payment (ANNEXES III and IV) and tchnical report (ANNEX V) within the deadline set out in the grant agreement
