Under the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the EU and the Republic of Armenia have agreed 13 veterinary harmonised certificates that are applicable for exports of the EU countries to Armenia.
Since 1999, a veterinary agreement on sanitary measures to protect public and animal health in respect of trade in live animals and animal products between the EU and Canada had been in place. This agreement has been suspended on September 21, 2017, whilst the provisions and achievements of the agreement were transposed into the Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) that became provisionally applicable at that date.

Under the Association Agreement (AA), the EU and Ukraine are establishing veterinary harmonised certificates that are applicable for exports of animal products from EU Member States to Ukraine. Once agreed these certificates become available in TRACES of which they can be issued by certifying officers in the Member States. Certificates agreed between the EU and Ukraine may include a reference to an Export library providing further technical information helpful for the signing officer.
In addition, the Commission is preparing ‘Comparison tables’ that identify similarities as regards import requirements listed in Ukraine’s generic import certificates with EU requirements. The number of resemblances between legislation reflected via import requirements in import certificates is significant and the result of Ukraine’s efforts, specified by the AA, to align its SPS rules and standards to those of the EU. Also these Comparison tables may be found in the export library.
