EU legislation in the areas of the Republic of Cyprus in which the Government of the Republic of Cyprus does not exercise effective control

The application of the EU acquis in the areas of the Republic of Cyprus in which the Government of the Republic of Cyprus does not exercise effective control is suspended by Protocol No 10 of the Act concerning the conditions of accession (...).

Regulation (EC) No 866/2004 regulates the movement of persons and certain goods across the line between the areas under the effective control of the Government of the Republic of Cyprus and those areas in which the Government of the Republic of Cyprus does not exercise effective control.

However it prohibits the movement across the line of live animals and animal products which are subject to EU veterinary requirements. Prohibitions in respect of specified live animals or animal products may be lifted by Commission decisions laying down the conditions applicable for trade.

Commission Decision 2007/330/EC lifts the prohibition on the movement of honey and fresh fish and lays down the conditions for the movement of those products.
